Aldergrove Festival Days Society

Aldergrove Festival Days Society (AFDS), incorporated 1984

AFDS is a non-profit society run by volunteers and functions to promote community pride within Aldergrove and promote Aldergrove to its neighboring communities.

AFDS invites everyone to attend monthly meetings at either the Coghlan Hall or other Aldergrove location. The AGM is held in October. Annual membership dues are $5.00.The AFDS website and Facebook page list the meeting dates, times, and location. Members receive notifications via e-mail.

As an UMBRELLA organization, AFDS is dedicated to bringing together citizens, community groups, service clubs, and organizations to put on the following annual festivals and events:

Aldergrove Fair Days Country Carnival is an annual 3-day festival featuring entertainment, fun activities, and educational exhibits run in July (usually the third weekend) for the entire community to enjoy. Friday evening features a Car Show’n Shine; Saturday is all fun and games, and Sunday is Family Day. The opening ceremonies include the presentation of the Hilda Reddick Volunteer of the Year Award.

The fairgrounds are located at the north fields of the Aldergrove Athletic Park near the Kinsman Community Centre and Aldergrove Community Secondary School on 29th Avenue. AFDS partners with the Aldergrove Agricultural Association to host the fair.

Christmas ‘Light Up’ Parade is an annual event held at 6PM on the second Saturday of December. The parade route runs along the Fraser Highway through downtown Aldergrove. There is also carol singing and free hot chocolate. The Walter Levy trophy is presented to the home decorating contest winners.
